We all deserve to feel good.

But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! – Galatians 5:22-23 NLT I chose this scripture, because it’s a good reminder that when you choose God first, good things follow. Like I mentioned in my previous post, when you are an addict or an alcoholic, it is SO easy to choose yourself, and we have to remember that we can not choose ourselves. When we choose ourselves, we make it easier to put other unimportant things first also. By choosing ourselves, we tend to choose to let our emotions rule…

    Just keep swimming..

Part of being an addict in recovery is making sure you don’t addicted to other things. It is so easy to sub one addiction for another. Sometimes it starts off with good intentions and spirals out of control, sometimes not so much.  Lately, I’ve realized that I’ve started to become addicted to self help and self improvement. Today I thought I’d share some things that have been “make or break” for me in sobriety. Things that have 100% improved my recovery and gave me a different outlook on life in recovery. Beginning recovery for me was HARD. In AA they talk about to change your people, places, and things, otherwise you will relapse. I changed my people, places, and things and found that I was incredibly lonely and I felt like a small child trying to discern…

    Happy Hump Day!

Good morning world 🙂 It’s Wednesday, I have a few job interviews lined up, and I enrolled in training to start a side gig. What does this have to do with sobriety? Well.. when I was deep in my addiction, I couldn’t hold a steady job and the one time I did, it was only because I didn’t have to be there at 8 am(far too early when you’re nursing a hangover). I’m also sharing so people deep in their addictions, or brand new to sobriety, understand that there is hope! I chose to get sober on January 1, and even though it hasn’t been a perfect journey, and I had…
